sorority recruitment at txst is harder than you th

by:

My freshman year I thought I had it all figured out. I was pretty, great grades, cheerleader and had rec letters for every sorority. I knew I only wanted certain top sororities. When I went to visiti mid/bottom tier sororities I didn't give them the time of day. I'm sure it was pretty clear to them I wasn't interested. Guess what. The first night I got cut by ALL the top tier sororities I wanted and a few of the mid/bottom tier sororities. What a reality check for me. I ended up dropping out of recruitment...because God forbid I take a bid from a mid/bottom tier sorority🙄. I went back through the next Fall and got in the sorority I originally wanted but I had a lot better attitude the second time around. Let me tell you. It's harder than what you might think. Be very open minded about all sororities. I got lucky the second time around and got what I originally wanted but truly I would have had a great experience with whatever bid I'd gotten my freshman year. Good luck everyone.

PNMS- So many girls drop completely after being cut by certain houses and regret that decision for the rest of the semester/year. Have a better attitude and get out of the mindset that you're the greatest thing to walk into embassy (you're not). We will laugh at your arrogance and then cut you without feeling bad lol

I think some of the reasons PNMs drop out of rush completely has to do more with the feeling of rejection from people you thought you connected with just the day before,,, rather than disappointment with the houses you have left. Hurts your ego. So you can't focus on the other good opportunties that are still out there.

i get this, but at the same time, you know what youre signing up for. recruitment is fun, and you can find your home, but too many pnms drop because they can't handle something that they knew was entirely possible. it isn't a secret that most girls will get dropped from at least one or two houses, and if a pnm signs up for recruitment, and then throws a fit because they got dropped on day one from one house, then that pnm shouldnt have rushed. sororities want women who will add to the house. a pnm who gets dropped from one or so houses and keeps going is a woman who is confident in her self and her ability to find her home regardless of if a "top" house dropped her. that is the kind of pnm i would want in my sorority.
