From a top tier senior girl, yes. Yes they are important. Unless you're a perfect top girl with amazing grades and you're drop dead gorgeous, you need a rec for the top 3 houses at least. I got them for all but DG, axid and gamma phi. I got one for chi o but prob didn't need it. You need rec's for adpi, dz, and Zeta. Maaaaybe you WONT need them and you miiiight get in without them, but what if they help? What could it hurt? If you can't find anyone, contact your local alumna association (just look up Austin delta zeta or Houston adpi etc) and they can write you one!

im a senior in a top tier- my advice is, if you can get rec letters then do it, but if not dont worry too much. during recruitment they'll want to get to know you anyway- a rec letter is not a guarantee for a bid so dont stress too much, but if you can get them then it can only benefit you
