by: sororitygirlPNMS!!! There is absolutely no rule anywhere in the world that says you are not allowed to go to rush events. I repeat there is no rule anywhere that says this. There is a rule that says sorority women should not be at fraternity rush events because we and our chapters can be fined. Utilize this time to go out and have some fun before school starts. If you think a sorority girl will tell on you or something petty like "black listing you" then be on your best behavior and act like a lady. Don't makeout with guys or be dancing on tables. I went to rush events when I was rushing two years ago and I ended up having a phenomenal recruitment. The key is to stick to yourself and your freshmen friends. Don't talk to sorority women. Just don't. Go out and have a good time.

Yeah even doing nothing at a party can backfire on you. Aside from being out late during recruitment, not getting enough sleep and maybe having a hangover, all it takes is for one guy a sorority member likes to pay too much attention to you and it will be over. Or someone starts a rumor you were really wasted. Or someone starts a rumor you were doing some scandalous things with some fratties.
Don't go out during recruitment unless you're ok with never being Greek. There will be plenty of fun and parties once you're a sorority member.
