recruitment
by: PNMOk well I am beyond nervous about recruitment. The thought of not getting in any sorority scares the living crap out of me. My roommate wanted to go to some party last night for one of the fraternities and I went. So many girls that were either rushing or in sororities were there. I am so nervous I am going to get cut from a sorority because I just found out if you are rushing you aren't allowed to go to frat parties. Will going to parties hurt my chances of getting in a sorority??

Idk who told you you're not allowed. PNMs can go to whatever they want. There is absolutely no written rule anywhere that says you can't go to rush events, and if a sorority women tells you that it's bs because she's just trying to cover her ass. Sorority women aren't supposed to be at rush events. If you wanna go, go! Personally I don't care if PNMs are sorority girls go to rush parties, just clearing up the misinformation.

If the sorority women find out you were there they might think you're in it for the boys and booze, two of the big no nos when it comes to recruitment conversations, but there are huge rules against sorority women going to rush events so they won't be there. Don't stress, you'll end up in a great chapter I'm sure.

If you're one of the few girls who pretty much has a guaranteed bid for whatever reason (you know who you are) then do whatever tf you want, but if you're already skeptical about rush and whether or not you'll get cut then it's probably not the smartest decision to be seen out at rush parties, especially multiple of them. Think about it.

the rule is sorority girls aren't allowed at frat parties, not the other way around... chill tf out and stop acting like you weren't eager to attend ur first college party. coming from one of the top houses, PNMs are fine to go to parties just don't make an idiot of yourself

the last thing I want them to think is that I'm in it for the boys and booze. Its honestly just really about sisterhood and the amazing networking
