I was wondering other than dues, what are the usual costs of joining a sorority?

There are a few fees you'll have to pay for participating in events that aren't included in dues, but those events are largely optional. Most of the costs outside of dues are clothing related, you'll have to wear certain things to certain events, some of which are optional-most of which are not, and the tshirts are generally an extra price, although most of those are optional as well.

I know Gamma Phi Beta has the highest dues but they also have a new sorority house.

On the Texas state university website under the Panhellenic info there is a link to a PDF file that list all the sorority dues for 2016. Actually it looks like Alpha Xi Delta has the highest yearly dues:
Alpha Delta Pi $1,032
Alpha Xi Delta $1,565
Chi Omega $1,164
Delta Gamma $1,094.25
Delta Zeta $1,170
Gamma Phi Beta $1,485
Zeta Tau Alpha 1,535\n\n\n\n\n

Guys, she asked other than dues, not what dues are. A simple google search and you can find that, she likely already has.

Sorority dues vary, I know Zeta is the highest. But look at around 1200+ per semester. That's without tshirts. Because God dang I wish those were free but they aren't.
