During rush should I actively try to start conversations with actives or if they are interested will I have someone come talk to me I don't want to seem pushy but also don't want to seem un interested

you will be paired with a girl in every sorority to talk to! Depending on the house you may talk to 2 or 3 different girls but you will never be left alone during a round

The girls will talk to you, but please please do us a favor and actively keep up with the conversation so we don't have to pull teeth to get words to come out of your mouth!

Is it okay to ask questions or does that come off as annoying

Asking questions is great, it shows that you're interested which is one of the measures they rank pnms by. The girls in the chapter will talk to you, though, don't worry about having to start conversations. We train for over a week on conversation and how to talk to pnms. You'll be fine.
