tiers
by: Why? :(I am looking into SMU for theatre and would love to join a sorority. I am just curious if anyone can actually say that at the end of the day, it doesn't matter about tiers but about which sorority fits each individual. My parents lived in Texas and loved the sweet, friendly atmosphere. Are tiers all that SMU cares about?
#1by: Not at all
Greek life here at SMU is what you make it.
If you wanna focus on the tier system and how your sorority/fraternity measures up to the other ones, by all means go ahead. But if you choose your sorority based on the values its members hold and if you overall fit in best with the members of that chapter, you will have a much more enriching experience.

I can honestly tell you while I went thru rush 3 years ago, I ended up being released towards the end of the process from 2 houses I thought loved me and I thought was a good fit. I ended up in a house that I was at first a bit disappointed in. What I came to realize is if I had ended up in either of those 2 houses I thought were a good fit, I am confident I would have deactivated by now. My house was the right fit. I have sisters for life.
