Greek Row Fall Semester Projects ð
1. ð Establish weekly afternoon sorority house fraternity socials/mixers. Consider using/renting the Theta Chapter house for those sororities than can/do not want to host afternoon socials/mixers at their Chapter house. The Theta house has a beautiful courtyard with an attached kitchen and dining area.
2. ð All agree the Sigma Chi facade does not match their large house or our beautiful Georgian style campus. A simple 3-month construction project this year would be the best time to complete this necessary overdue project.
3. ðē All Greek chapters were shocked to see how one rogue Fiji Chapter Treasurer could financially dissolve its future. Greek Chapters should transition away from a "single Treasurer" to a "Financial Oversight Committee" for all purchases totaling over $50.
4. ðą Require the university to read and hand-out the past 5 years Panhellenic recruitment results to the incoming PNM Freshmen class at their initial recruitment orientation meeting. This will set expectations to these 1,000 PNMs of the potential 300-400 sorority quota limited bid opportunities.
ðĢ Call, text, IM, snap your Chapter officers with these positive constructive ideas.
ðŪ If your Chapter officers are pushing back on these ideas, replace them! Hold recall Chapter officer elections in the early Fall semester.

Spoke to a graduating senior sig chi last Spring. He said when their Chapter house was being built, it was designed to have a wide 3 story portico porch facade covering the center 5 windows. They were going to furnish the 3rd story rooms a year later.
The university wanted the 3rd story rooms furnished first, to collect housing fees. The sig chis furnished the 3rd story and placed a temporary facade on the house to be replaced by a permanent one a year later.
Well, it has been over 30 years now... The same temp house facade remains.... it is embarrassing guys ð. If your current Chapter leaders do not want to put in the effort to finally replace your facade...replace them! ð Hold recall Chapter officer elections in the early Fall semester.
For sig chi to be considered a top Chapter, their house needs a 3 story front facade similar to Dallas Hall ð. It should be a Georgian style front centered portico porch to cover the middle five windows, with no less than 6 wide columns across. The front outside windows should be accented with white or black window shutters. The house roof trim should be replaced with 2-3 foot wide white or black roof trim to match the new shutters.
Everyone on campus ððð§ðŧððąðŧââïļð§ðŧ wants to you to renovate your house facade. Can you guys make it a reality this year?

We can make SMU Greek Life a national trend-setter with these classy weekly afternoon Sorority House hosted mixers. It really is a great concept with no downside.
Except for those lazy entitled Chapters that believe they are too good to host a mixer. They believe their mere appearance at a mixer should suffice. This Fall expect major social changes on Sorority row. ð

When we pass by the Sigma Chi house, it always said, why don't they finally finish that house. The front facade does not fit their large building or match our beautiful campus. ð
That widely seen corner Chapter house really needs renovations. ðĪ

I wouldn't call it a house facade more like a front door porch.
Tear down that old temporary Chapter house odd front door porch & replace it with a permanent campus matching Georgian style 3 story portico permanent front house porch facade with wide columns, wider roof trim and outside accenting window shutters. ð
Lets meet campus standards guys. ðĪĶðŧââïļ

With the upcoming loss of the GPB Chapter, we need to reexamine ðŋ panHellenic's recruitment process.
Require the university to read and hand-out the past 5 years ðŋ panHellenic's recruitment results to the incoming PNM Freshmen class at their initial recruitment orientation meeting. This will set expectations to these 1,000 PNMs of the potential 300-400 sorority quota limited bid opportunities.
That way, 60-70 PNMs can make the realization that they should join a smaller sorority and make it their own. Instead of going through a cruel predetermined recruitment gauntlet and end up a newly sHoCkEd GDI ðĩ.

These projects look really good. Will any of them be completed by the Spring semester?
Most of us think it will be up to the incoming freshman class to make these projects a reality.

Yeah, let's make one of the most toxic Panhellenic groups ever more toxic. At just about every school, APhi is the mean girl house, as their recruitment is focused solely on appearance. SMU already has one "hot stupid girl" house - Theta Society.

SMU Panhellenic cannot support the addition of 2 more chapters. If you add Alpha Phi it will probably eat up another established chapter and cause more losses overall.

Full, transparent disclosures must be required for this Fall-Spring semester's recruitment. ðą
A written statement from the university must be read and presented in the early Fall semester Panhellenic Orientation Meeting to these PNM freshmen girls, giving the actual recruitment results from the past 5 years.
An actual percent of "legacy versus non-legacy" percentages for each participating sorority must be fully disclosed to them at that time. ðą
