SMU Greek Life is Wierd

Why is it that ALL of the panhellenic Fraternities and Sororities have housing, but the National Panhellinic Council (i.e. the HBCU - Black) have None. Not 1...

1: The biggest non-Panhell/IFC chapter has only 18 members. The smallest fraternity with housing has 60 members.

2: Campus houses can cost $100K+ a year, with the cheapest properties costing over $2,000,000 to have full ownership.

1. 💑 Consider using/renting the Theta Chapter house for those sororities that can/do not want to host mixers at their Chapter house. The Theta house has a beautiful courtyard with an attached kitchen and dining area.

2. 🏛 All agree the Sigma Chi facade does not match their large house or our beautiful Georgian style campus. A simple 3-month construction project over summer break would be the best time to complete this necessary project.

3. 💲 All Greek chapters were shocked to see how one rogue Fiji Chapter Treasurer could financially dissolve its future. Greek Chapters should transition away from a "single Treasurer" to a "Financial Oversight Committee" for all purchases over $50.

Let's get mov'n! 🚀

^ idiot 🤪.

Obviously a corrupt Greek chapter Treasurer wanting to prevent these worthwhile projects in order to 💲kim the remaining Chapter budget for their own personal use. 😲

An HBCU is a school, not a GLO. And it's National Pan-Hellenic Council, or NPHC. Then there's IFC fraternities and NPC sororities, not "panhellenic" fraternities and sororities. Because Greeks have to be able to pay for their houses, they aren't given them, and that means they must be a large group with lots of $$$. If you don't go to school here or you're not in an NPHC group or don't seem to actually know $hit about anything Greek then you aren't in a position to ask. Maybe be an educated 'observer' instead of just a stupid troll.

IFC and NPC raises hundreds of thousands of dollars every year. They can actually afford these houses and have the members to fill them and treasure their property.
