Society question

by:

I posted this question in another thread, but wanted to see if anyone had answer.

Appears that the Society was created so that suspended thetas could have a sorority experience until they graduate.
The new members are fulfilling a role in this experience with no guarantees from theta nationals that they will be initiated.
If the new members are being told you will be initiated once suspension is lifted, they need to open their eyes & see they are being used.
If they are straight up told that they don’t know what is going to happen, then fine. New members know what they’re getting into.

So, what have the new members been told?

Also, Greek organizations get sued from time to time.
I don’t get how parents are paying for their daughters to be in a “club” that has been in trouble for alcohol hazing and now has no school or national oversight.
If something bad happens, don’t they open themselves open to personal responsibility when before people would first go to the national organization for retribution?

Early each Fall semester, panHELLenic 😈 encourages over 950 freshmen pnms during the first orientation meeting to pester their moms to get rec letters for the 6 viable sororities. Knowing these 6 sororities historically only could offer @ 60 bids each. 360 available sorority bids to 950 unsuspecting pnm freshmen coeds. Seriously disappointing and depressing almost 600 freshmen coeds each Spring semester.

Almost half, 300 of these newly sHoCkEd Spring freshmen coeds transfer to a different university for their sophomore year. A discouraging recurring cycle for the past decades.

Gphi has been a long standing sorority with a beautiful chapter house on campus for decades. It would a loss to the university to lose them.

We suggest early each Fall semester during the first orientation meeting to have the university fully disclose the disappointing history. Including that 2/3s of the 950 girls in the meeting will not get a bid from the top 6 sororities.

Then encourage those non-legacy, non-connected, non-billionaire and non-online influencer to reestablish and rebuild Gphi. Starting with a group of 60+ 2024 Spring pledges. These girls can build the chapter to reflect their interests and goals for the next 3 years.

It can start by FULL disclosure of past recruitment results and ending the EVIL panHELLenic 👿 recruitment elimination for 2/3s of the freshmen coeds.

Don't act like you're doing any favors for GPHi with posts like this. For the past however many years, you've made dozens of posts shaming and bashing anyone who joined GPhi or AXO since I was a freshman. You told students to transfer instead of accepting a bid. You wanted the school to fund parties for girls who dropped out of rush on their own accord and refused to look at other sororities. You used to refer to GPhi and AXO as houses 7 and 8 like all that matters is their house "ranking". Your post this time is extremely condescending, insincere, and does nothing for our reputation.

Never talk about my sorority again.

Shame on you.

I read the same posts over the past 4 years. These posts focused on Panhellenic"s lack of disclosure and empathy to my fellow GDIs. Not to bash any sorority.

I experienced and have seen this evil elimination process for 4 years now. My verbal warnings to these freshman were brushed-off as "that is not going to happen to me". But it did, to almost 600 of them for each of the past 4 years...
