According to smu student affairs page theta was sited in 2020 & 2022 for hazing.
This is punishment for this offense:
University Sanctions:
The national organization Kappa Alpha Theta entered into a mutual agreement with SMU through May 15, 2026, that includes the suspension of the SMU chapter for a period of two years until May 15, 2024, and additional educational programs and requirements.
What does the through 2026 part mean?

As long as there is “The Society” and/or “Theta Society” ….whatever you want to call it…SMU WILL NOT BE INVITING KAPPA ALPHA THETA BACK ANYTIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE!

- - this basically means that SMU & Theta nationals already have an agreed upon plan in place for bringing Theta back to SMU!
