What sorority would you want

There is a large number of newly ShOcKeD GDIs in our dormitory this week. They are sHoCkEd, angry, depressed and resentful to the university and especially panHELLenic. 😨
Given it's long history for deceiving these young girls, the university and panHELLenic should immediately open a Newly ShOcKeD GDI Crisis Office to assist these emotionally harmed girls. 🛌

Spring GDI sHoCk 😵 is the most as severe at SMU.
A complete " social metamorphosis " from the Fall semester. Severe Greek sorority cliques develop resulting in GDI isolation on most evenings and weekends. The newly shocked GDI is ready to transfer away as soon as she finishes her last Spring semester final. 😞

IDK why people ask this. The letters will not have anything to do with the girls that join, they will be the same SMU students going through rush like always. What magic thing would happen to make any sorority do well here with the toxic mindset that there are only a few ones worth joining? This place is toxic for sorority life and no national would want to come here because of it.

Are the chapters supportive of each other? That would help campus culture. Is the tippy top chapter supportive of the newest chapter? An above poster makes an excellent point- why would another chapter invest on coming to a campus notorious for the brutal culture?

ZTA, ADPi or Phi Mu. I think they all had a chapter at SMU before. They’d have an alumni group to help get started.

Having a strong and willing local alumnae group is the basis for a new chapter to succeed here if the conditions are right. But it won't happen unless memberships get larger across the board, and that will only happen until all chapters are valued and the imagined entitlement of a few actually becomes supportive of a healthy sorority culture. Right now, any of the nationals will say no thanks to entitled toxic SMU, just like Theta has done.

panHELLenic 👿 should have forewarned the Spring PNMs about the very low probability of getting a bid from the top 2 sororities as a non-legacy. Also about the real probability of not getting a bid from the mid 3 sororities unless the PNM is a legacy or already knows a ton of members. 🤨
