Suspended: Kappa Alpha Theta Beta Sigma chapter and organization for failure of Nationals to properly oversee and lead the chapter responsibly, dereliction of duty to ensure the safety of their members. They need two years to reorganize their leadership and find a qualified Advisory Board Chair, multiple Advisors, Regional Rep, and College District Director who all failed at doing their jobs. Failure was from top to bottom. This chapter cannot function safely until they get a grip on National's chain of command. Hopefully they don't rebuff the local Dallas alumnae's offers to help, again, in the future. Alumni should be actively involved and there should be a parents group to also lend a much needed hand. The Beta Sigma Alumnae of Dallas need to help grow this chapter back to something much kinder and safer than it was before. They need to show up and get involved. It was led from a dark, cruel place with an mean, bitter Advisory Board Chair. Nationals knew, had been told over and over, warned for YEARS and they failed to help and instead blamed everyone but themselves to coverup their negligence. There is proof of the pleas for help from advisors, members and records of parents complaining about the failed leadership and impending implosion of the chapter. Kappa Alpha Theta did what they do best- didn't help, the chapter imploded, they denied any responsibility and blamed the victims: 19-22 year old girls who were hazed and victims of negligence.

Before you pledge a sorority or join a club, Google the sorority and look at their "news" the last 20 years and see if they are in trouble a lot, being suspended and closed. This is a direct reflection of that sorority's culture nationwide. Pick a house with positive and encouraging leaders. Be an educated PNM. It's very important. Don't make the same mistake the past 10 years of pledges suffered at SMU with a horrible and failed leadership at Kappa Alpha Theta, Beta Sigma chapter. God willing they get their act together and change their mean and nasty culture. What's their new National campaign: "Theta For Good". Well that's a positive start. I think they finally see the error of their ways. They have hurt so many young ladies with their failure for years. But, let us look forward and pray they can be better leaders for good. Let's also pray for the victims of their dereliction of duty. They have suffered greatly.
