should I choose smu or tcu?
by: nameI am from Connecticut and want to transfer. I don't know if I should go to smu or tcu so what do you guys think? What are the pros and cons of this school over tcu. Also I am not rich but middle class.

Have family that have gone to both schools. Greek systems very different. Grad schools at SMU are better; football team at TCU is better. TCU -Disciples of Christ; SMU - United Methodist. Suggest you look at the academics instead of social. Really depends on what you want to study. For example, if theatre - SMU; if nursing -TCU. But TCU has its share of moneyed kids.

I suggest you go to TCU's Fraternity and Sorority Life website. It has a lot of detail about how TCU runs and controls its Greek system and the Greek housing system on campus along with photos of TCU Greek life staff and residence hall directors assigned to each fraternity/sorority. You can read this yourself. It is very different than what SMU does.

Both schools have middle class and wealthy - not much difference there. SMU is more highly ranked and has much better business connections (Dallas > Ft Worth) so that is likely important. Both fun spots with good people. More Connecticut students at SMU due to better academics. TCU is slightly more Texan.

On what planet? East Coast students at SMU are at SMU because their academic performance in high school prevented them from getting into better universities. Other than wealthy kids from Dallas who want another four years of high school, not many folks aspire to attend SMU.
