Rushing as a transfer soph year

by:

Hi, I go to UT and rushed & got a bid. I am originally from Dallas and I went to a prominent, private local high school there. I've been thinking about transferring to SMU next year (for my sophomore year), but I noticed the sorority I pledged at UT isn't at SMU. I know I probably would have to rush again, and I know a lot of ladies who wrote recs for me went to SMU and were in KKG, etc there. How hard is it to go through rush as a sophomore? Does anyone have any tips? Thank you

EXCELLENT ACCURATE POST
- worth repeating....

Sororities reserve a few spots for sophomores.
Second time SMU rushees, forget 1-6, focus on 7-8.
1-6 once cut, always cut.
Second time non--legacy rushee and pledge from another university.
Damaged goods.
Concentrate on 5-8 only.

Sorority 1-3 PCs are packed with legacies. Over 90%.
Sorority 4-6 PCs are loaded with legacies. Over 85%.

The remaining 5-15% sorority 1-6 PC members are from Big Chapter contributors, Famous Families and Star Athletes. The remaining 3-5% are student leaders or proven academic scholars.

The Average Non-Legacy PNM will be corralled into sororities 7-8. PanHellenic and the university will use numerous pressure tactics. The WORST is the university tuition and housing full refund deadline BEFORE recruitment results are announced. Then the university 50% refund deadline kicks-in just days after the results are announced. Leaving the Newly Shocked GDI no time to pack and enroll in another university for the Spring semester. "Trapped" for an expensive $50 grand Spring semester. Just as Panhellenic and the university designed it.

Then...the COB illusion. Newly shocked GDIs are encouraged to participate in COB, where Sororities 7 & 8 are the ONLY remaining options available.

Only 360 PNMs accepting bids from sororities 1-6 will experience the legendary SMU Greek life experience. An additional 60 will accept bids from 7 & 8, leaving on average 300 newly shocked GDIs each Spring semester.

RELEASE the "Spring 2020 Legacy Disclosure Report" for the past 3 years by October 1st, 2020. Everyone is aware of PanHellenic's coverup attempts. You are NOT going to defraud the 2021 Spring PNMs with your PREDETERMINED LEGACY PC RECRUITMENT.

If this report is available in the PanHellenic Office, DISCLOSE the Spring 2020 results and for the past 3 years. SPILL the results on a GR Post. Most PNMs are too intimidated by PanHellenic to request this report. They are concerned they would be labeled as a trouble maker by PanHellenic.

SMU sororities 1-6 pledge the most legacies and cuts more non-legacies than most other universities. Mostly because of the university's small size and an overwhelming abundance of freshmen legacies.

Non-legacies must be prepared for these hard facts. Only 360 of the 750 PNMs will be offered bids to sororities 1-6. A vast majority of these 360 will be legacies.

To the OP: as long as you're not initiated, you can definitely rush. If you are, that door is permanently shut.

You can't rush again if you already pledged another house.

@You need therapy I'm not sure if you are responding to my post or another comment. In case you're responding to mine, I'm sorry but I think my post came off differently than how I wanted. I'm not transferring because I didn't get into a "top" sorority, I absolutely love the girls in the house I received a bid from. The reason for me transferring is because of the smaller class sizes and a more involved alumnae, among some other reasons. I was just asking how rushing as a transfer is, since my sorority isn't at SMU. Then again, I might not be able to rush again at all. I'm kind of confused with the details.

Something doesn't sound right here...actually being in a sorority at UT, you (if your are actually in a sorority) would know you must drop before initiation.
Other than Gamma Phi Beta, all the houses at SMU are here at Austin.
So that leaves A Phi, AEPhi, KD, and A Xi D.
I also find it strange you are yakking about your Kappa recs.
Finally, "smaller class size" seems like a cop-out to drop from a premier school to a mediocre institution like SMU.
