Hi, I wouldn’t worry about being a transfer or a sophomore PNM. When you rush you’ll be seen the same as a freshman. It would only be hurtful if you were a sophomore who was re-rushing.

Would it be hurtful for spring transfer students of 2020 who dropped out of rush to re-rush as sophomores 2021?

Depends on why you dropped out. If you expect "better" results, you're probably not going to get them.

Sororities have to take a certain percentage of sophomores based on how many sophomores are rushing. It’s much easier to get a bid as a sophomore. If more sophomores are rushing, then the houses just have to take more. So no it will not hurt anyone’s chances

No, they don't. Nobody can force an NPC group to take anyone whom they don't want. Even at schools with upperclass quotas, no one is forced to fill it. And that's a fact.

The above is true. Read your Green Book. No one can enforce any kind of rules to take non-freshmen.

However you want to word it to make the sophomores and yourself feel better is fine, however, it is a fact that houses are insentivised to take sophomores. Weird ass girls who didn’t get bids as freshman end up getting bids as sophomores because of this. And that’s a fact.

Don’t listen to ‘greek’ above who says you can’t rerush to get better results. Students who enter SMU in the spring semester are black listed as rejects on spring entry who missed the fall and most of them are usually dropped after day one of rush except for the bottom houses. And this is regardless of their recs or legacy status. Most of them usually rush again with better results because they get to know the girls in sororities once on campus. And they will be vetted for rush dates in the fall as a sophomore with better results after January rush spring semester as a sophomore.
