Letters of recommendation and legacy - advice needed!
by: :)Hey guys, I was wondering how important letters of recommendation and/or legacy status is? Should we get a letter of rec for every sorority? Should we get more than one for each sorority? Also, how important is legacy? I don’t think I have any legacies in any sorority so... will I be okay?

Sororities 1-3 bids mostly legacies, up to 95%.
Sororities 4-6 bids a majority to legacies, up to 75%.
Sorority 7 improved greatly this year, offers bids to most.
Sorority 8 offers bids to everyone.
To offset these pre-set entitlements, you must be from a famous family, big Chapter contributor or a star athlete.

Easy math, @ 400 pledges minus 750 PNMs equals 250 GDIs.
Most of the GDIs were cut by the sororities they were interested in.
These GDIs dropped and are preparing to transfer-out.
The emotional, financial and academic trauma has just begun for them.

They are little escargots, taking 3 years to flounce out of SMU. 3 years, dwelling on their misery, so sad.
