These are the delusioned ramblings and manufactured numbers of a bitter mother trying to make excuses for her daughter who was cut several years ago. Truth: there are as many 'openings' as there are pnm's divided by the number of sororities (8); there are no pre-filled spots by legacies because legacies get cut all the time; there are no 'houses 7 & 8' by looks or sisterhood or achievment or social criteria. Any pnm who attends pref and ranks those houses is guaranteed a bid, even if it puts a sorority over quota. Go where you are wanted and if all the girls who think they are that great would all do the same then you will be part of amazing pledge classes in all the sororities!

It was pointed out that a vast majority of the top 6 sorority PCs were pre-determined legacies. Only a few true openings were actually available to the non-legacy connected.

Fall Sophomore rush is very similar to COB. Only sorority 7 & 8 usually take pledges. Those Sophomores that go through recruitment a second time in the Spring are usually cut early and are given bids from sorority 7 & 8 again. Sorority 7 may cut you as a sophomore. “

Being a GDI social outcast in such a Greek Social Life dominated exorbitantly expensive university is hard to validate. Most GDIs transfer and sadly over half of them eventually drop OUT of college.

Sad but true.

Each year there is a long line of 200+ SHOCKED NEWLY GDIs in front of the Panhellenic Desk on bid day asking if there is a mistake....

Nope, just the annual cruel results of SMU recruitment.
Several hundred PNMs are cut or drop each year.

So obvious it is the same person over and over and over and over...

She knows the past recruitment stats well.
Spring 2018 recruitment had over 200 PNMs cut or dropped.
It is getting worse every year.

We know it's still you. You are a laughing stock.

Just tell us the truth.
What are we up against in Januarys' Recruitment.

Please list each Sorority and how many legacies were in each PC for the past 3 years.

Also list how many PNMs went thru your recruitment and the number that were cut or dropped-out for the past 3 years.

This information will calm us down.

A sorority will fill their pledge class with anywhere from 10% to 30% legacies. Are you calm now?

One of the top 3 takes almost 55 legacies each year.
The remaining top 2 take between 45 and 50 legacies.
The next 3 take about 35 to 40 legacies.
The remaining 2 are open for freshmen pnms.

SMU's top 6 sororities are saturated with legacies.

Spring 2020 transfers can still rush informally or rush 2021, and you’re definitely not doomed. I’m sure you’ll find a chapter you fit in with
