I will accept our sorority fine for not attending this months open house, "cattle call" again this year. I cannot face 750 PNMs that do not have a chance to join our sorority. Our Recruitment Committee notified us that over 50 legacies have been selected to receive bids, leaving @ 5 non-legacy openings. Leading-on this many PNMs is NOT in my DNA.

When facing the many disappointed PNMs, now GDIs after recruitment, we are told to say "Sorray, our sorority had too many legacies to honor this year". Again, I cannot continue this evil charade. Sorority life is great, the elimination process is unnecessarily cruel.

There will be as in years past, 250+ newly GDIs mid-January.
If you are Panhellenic, state your office & name.
If you don't, you are a liar & a coward.

These newly GDIs will be facing their first life crisis in mid-January.
Lets make certain they will all go to your office for emotional, academic & financial assistance.

Being a GDI social outcast in such a Greek Social Life dominated exorbitantly expensive university is hard to validate.

There is no set number of 'openings' for any house at the beginning of recruitment. The number of bids each house is allowed to give (Quota) will be the same across the board depending on how many pnm's stay through prefs and sign their cards: Quota = total number of pnm's signing their cards after prefs divided by the number of sororities (8). Also, each pnm is GUARANTEED a bid when they put all houses they pref on their card, whether they attend one house or two, even if it puts a house over Quota. Legacies get cut from those houses all the time, girls get cut from their favorite houses all the time, all houses make cuts and all eight are excellent sororities with exceptional girls and sisterhoods. If you are pretty and sweet, smart and fun, you will be that no matter what your letters are. Don't drop out of recruitment based on an emotional reaction! Give the house that wants you a chance instead of being on the outside looking in!
