fraternity size

so first of all at SMU it seems that on average more girls are interested in greek life. second of all, SMU has a big problem with keeping track of the frats when it comes to discipline; it has been a very long time since none of the fraternities have been in trouble with the university, while sororities rarely break any rules. when frats are in trouble they take less pledges or none at all. some kids are scared away from frats because of this, and some kids just use them for parties but aren't really into the whole brotherhood part of it, which is important to receiving a bid.

SMU has evolved into one the nation's academically elite universities. In the last 10 years, it has placed academics ahead of sports and social life. As with Duke, NYU, Princeton and Rice, they have limited Greek Fraternity participation or no Greek Life at all. Academics will grow and thrive at SMU while Greek Life will continue to shrink....
