rushing
by: smu2023After scrolling through the sororities on insta, it's clear that there's a small amount of diversity. As a POC should I rush? Greek life is something I want to experience and be part of a sisterhood. The only thing I'm worried about is having the feeling of not being wanted.

I don't know many girls who get through the whole rush process without feeling unwanted at some point. Cuts are hard to take for anyone. TBH a lot of WOC don't even rush, so that is part of the problem right there. You should try to get to know girls this fall and def go through recruitment and find your home.

If you are a kind and sweet person and reach out to girls and put in an effort, I promise you will have a better rush week than the girls with bad attitudes. For most if not all sororities, they really do care about character and are looking for that. SMU does have a specific demographic historically, but that absolutely doesn’t mean you can’t have a successful recruitment.
