what happened with rush 2019?

by: pnm

I just feel like so many girls who were either promised a bid or really confident in a house got dropped on the first or second day. I also heard only around 25 girls preffed theta on bid day and they got a ton of girls who wanted pi phi so badly. One girl was told she was cut from theta in the hughes trigg ballroom but panhellinic never called her so she got the bid from theta anyway. People were called 5 minutes before bids were given out and told the call was only made so late due to a “computer issue.” Tri delt’s PC was only 52 and several girls didnt come to bid day. What the hell is going on?

I heard that the "lower houses" did great and that some of the top houses didn't.

this happens every year. there are NO promised bids. 2 years ago almost half of the PNMs dropped and last year there was drama with certain houses lists. if you have any houses left those are probably your only chances, next year will be the same

theta had some problems near the end of rush and ended up with a really low original count, so they ended up having to give out snap bids to try to reach quota. Not saying that a ton of girls didn’t want theta, just the way that the cuts worked out in the 2nd and 3rd day ended up not working out well in the end, leaving them with low numbers on their original list. Tri Delt made quota with their 52 girls, but they didn’t go as much over quota as they have the past two years. I would also agree with the comment made above about the lower houses doing really well for themselves while most upper houses struggled more than normal.
