transfer student in spring

Hey I am transfering to SMU in the spring and I heard that SMU has a deferred rush, do most freshman fill out the IFC thing around now and explore frats or wait until spring? Also if their arent any pledge classes during fall, just wondering what freshman guys do during football weekends in terms of where to tailgate. Or do they recruit during this time?
