does money play a big of a role when rushing?

grades really don't matter that much as long as you make the cutoff. top grade houses (XO) care a little more, but a 4.0 isn't an automatic in
money plays a role in certain houses because you have to have the "look" and personality and often that influences how you click with the other girls. they aren't asking about your exact finances, but money does affect your overall lifestyle and aesthetic and that is something taken into consideration.
second semester rush makes this a little less important because prior connections really come into play. the best advice I can give you if you're worried is to join clubs/get involved- looks good on your resume and helps you get to know upperclassmen who can vouch for you.

Grades a VERY important. So is philanthropy, leadership and moral character. Money isn't a factor. If you think it is, you should focus on your self esteem/identity for now rather than joining a sorority.
