Kappa Alpha Theta - ΚΑΘ Sorority at Southern Methodist University - SMU 4.2 Ok, please keep in mind: I am not affiliated w/ greek life at SMU; like at all. However, I'm noticing a very common denominator amongst sororities (can't attest for frats). "Lower-tier" sororities like Alpha Chi tend to have all the minority women who've rushed whereas Theta caters to a very specific type of girl: white and wealthy. I've had BIPOC friends feel uncomfortable during rush by the way they were felt out of place when talking to them. They seem like nice girls - albeit tone deaf - but white girls with spray tan don't constitute people of color. Theta (and other sororities, too!) need to do better.

we don't rush people based on skin color, white, black or otherwise. you should try not paying so much attention to skin color yourself.

I've also noticed a disproportionate number of a certain skin color in the NBA. Whites are VERY under-represented when compared to America's general population!!! Do Better NBA!!!!

Not y’all proving my point. 1) In a world that’s putting more emphasis on representation, shouldn’t sororities be doing that too? You guys claim to “condemn racism at systemic levels”, yet won’t put emphasis on diversifying your members? 2) People are drafted into the NBA based on merit and it takes a lot of hard work; also, there’s CERTAINLY white folks in the NBA. What are the extreme athletic/academic constituents of being in a sorority? Again, this comment was no hate to Theta— it was more of an observation.

This exactly why I'm scared for rush. Theta seems so cool but the lack of representation makes me feel like I'll be voted out before I even they even have a chance to get to know me

Kappa Alpha Theta - ΚΑΘ Sorority at Southern Methodist University - SMU 4.0 Honestly so impressed by theta this year. They got so many gorgeous girls and their rush impressed me. I went a different house personally but I’m very impressed by this group of girls. U should be honored to get a bid from this group!

Kappa Alpha Theta - ΚΑΘ Sorority at Southern Methodist University - SMU 4.9 Considered to be the top chapter at SMU. That’s why they get trashed sm on Greek rank. But I find it funny that everyone is saying they have “bad sisterhood” when this is known to have the strongest sisterhood out of the top 3 and also strong campus wide. Thetas adore theta. The sisterhood is why half of my friends joined. I’m in another “top” sorority and I wish I had gotten a bid to theta, you can just tell their friendships are going to last forever
