fall rush
by: freshmanI rushed a sorority all semester and was friends with a ton of the girls, it seemed like they really liked me, but I didn’t get a bid. It was really hard but I think I want to try and rush again (as a sophomore) in the spring. What sororites take fall pledge classes (both national and local) and what are some tips for getting a bid in the fall?

I’m sure it’s the same either way with the locals regardless. RLK doesn’t haze and SMAC only makes you run because fitness is one of their pillars. But nationals don’t rush in the fall at all.

Ago does a lot of their rushing for the spring in the fall, so doing formal rush and pledging in the fall semester would take away from that

unfortunately nationals don't take pledge classes in the fall. honestly i think they should but i think it's because geneseo is a small school and a lot of work and effort goes into the rush process. in my opinion it should be something they look into doing because i think a lot of people would do it in the fall

I totally agree, especially since I know tons of girls who did not get bids from a sorority this semester. it seems unfair that you have to wait a whole year before rushing again or go local (which local isn’t for everybody)

A few years ago some nationals like SDT and Dphie I believe did fall recruitment. It just became too much of a hassel and the IGC started introducing quotas (which is why national pcs have like 30-40 girls in them). There are many locals that do fall rush though so you should look into that as well (every local but Ago does it)

a lot of the time (for locals) if you don't get a bid it doesn't necessarily mean they don't like you. a lot of the time the girls you met could've really liked you but maybe you didnt get to know enough people because almost all the girls have to really really want you in order to get a bid from a local
