I really really wanted sdt and made it to the last round but ended up not getting invited to formal. Is it better to wait and try again next spring or just take the choice I was left with even though I don't really want it?

Take what you were left with. Nationals are good. Just because it’s not SDT doesn’t mean you wouldn’t have a great sisterhood. Plus if they cut you this year, they’ll probably cut you next year too.

You can still be friends with those girls if you are in another sorority. But your best bet is to go with the girls who liked you.
