local vs national frats

What is a local v national frat? Which are which?

it gets down to how much money you can pay tbh. more money for social things, gear, brotherhood events, national dues etc. nationals will tell you its all the connections they make and all that bs. it really counts on how much you are gonna pay attention to it post college.

in geneseo i really dont think it makes a difference in the social scene if youre in a national or local. rush the frat based off the dudes and their own scene, not national v local.

The difference between National and Local fraternities....National are more expensive and have to answer to a IHQ, locals are cheaper and do not have to answer to a IHQ. But again, join the fraternity you feel most comfort with and that you fit in.

The difference is if you want it to mean something outside of school you go National because of the large alumni base. Locals only have alumni that went to Geneseo. If none of that matters to u find a group of guys u like and get along with

it seems like nationals just take whoever because they have a quota to reach. if you want to join a frat and actually be close with every brother in it, i suggest you join a local.

National frats don’t have quotas, what are you talking about?

They do, but it is not strictly emforced

Nationals definitely do not have a quota except for kappa sig because their nationals make them be the biggest chapter on campuses so they bid everyone

They all do but they're not always strictly enforced or fined if they don't meet them. Usually nationals just say "we'd like you to get a class of 10 guys this semester."

Feel safe...Go Local. Nationals across the country keep closing chapters down every year do the hazing/deaths, alcohol violations and other risk management issues.
