what do the gaps mean?

A lot of the frat rankings have gaps between tiers 3 and 4 and tiers 6 and 7, can anyone explain the significance of each of these gaps?

There is a huge difference between tier 3 and 4 and 6 and 7. It kind of divides frats in to top, middle, and bottom tier

There is not a big difference between sig pi and du lol
