only want one of my final prefs

I only put one sorority tonight cuz I just didn't see myself in the second choice. I don't understand why this is so frowned upon. Why would I waste my time waiting for a bid from a sorority I have no intention of pledging (and why would they want me?) Wouldn't putting only the sorority you REALLY want to pledge make this whole process a lot more honest???
