junior

by:

So I just transferred this past spring 2015 semester and didn't realize I could have rushed. I thought you had to be here for a semester first because that's what I was told. So I figured informal would be better since I'm older, but I'm not sure juniors even get bids to sororities. Does anyone know the likelihood of getting a bid as a junior?

We had a junior in our pledge class. But just ask yourself if you think it's worth it this late in your career. You'll pledge for a semester and be a NIB for another. That only gives you one year as a brother

I'm pledged my sorority as a junior and don't regret it at all. Your choices in rush will be limited but a number of sororities will be willing to take you if you have something to bring to the table. I was maxed with the sororities I got back every round so obviously they were able to look past my age. I would advise you to rush if you really want to go Greek. Good luck!

definitely easier to get a bid as a freshman and sophomore, but I went through rush as a junior and ended up happy where I'm in. You have to ask yourself if you really want to be part of a sorority because formal rush can be time consuming and it is a commitment. Some sororities might have a quota on how many upperclassman they can take. Best of luck to you, I'm happy I went Greek and I hope you do too!
