Up until around 2007-08, Beta was a very strong house, one of the best at Penn State. Due to a number of issues, the details of which I don't know, they ran into some disciplinary issues with the campus and their nationals. From about 2008-early 2013, they were under a number if restrictions, including a dry house, inability to social etc. It was during this time that most of these lists were made and reviewed. This put Beta very low on many of these rankings. Recently, they have been getting more freedom and more members, causing them to get on the uprise again. Though I don't know if they'll be able to get back to where they were, within the year these guys should be a very strong house again. If I were you, I wouldn't go just on this. Wait for more input from other people but most importantly, meet the brothers and decide for yourself if its a place you could really be happy for the next few years.
