penn state destroyed

by:

Centre County DA Stacy Parks Miller gave it her all in her final weeks as prosector in Penn State territory. James Vivienzo asked, "Is this Joe Paterno all over again?" "with Penn State hiding information...." DA Parks Miller asked for changes as a result of the disgusting death of TIm Piazza in February of 2017. The IFC and Penn State colluded to keep things hidden. It was all a propaganda game to make sure that Penn State would get richer and richer. They use the fraternities to make sure that wealthy people will continue to want to bring their kids to a state school like Penn State that thinks they're some prestigious private institution like Harvard, Yale, or Swarthmore. We're sick of Penn State and we are not taking no for an answer any more. Those of you who don't want change are blinded by the ignorance of your guilt and immoral character. The binge drinking and hazing that has corrupted the campus of Penn State for the last 20 years will not be tolerated any longer. We want and are demanding change and anyone that is against us will be disposed of as needed.

YES.....THE END OF GREEK LIFE!!!

Stop pressing your political agenda on people who are clearly not interested in the end of Greek life. Yes, there are negative connotations attached to our culture, but you all neglect to realize that Greek life gives us a family on a campus where it can be easy to get indulged by introverted timid emotions. Moreover, what happened with Mr.Piazza was a disgrace. However, this means that the system needs reform and not obliteration. So far, penn state has limited fraternities and sororities with new laws placed to prevent further tragedies from occurring and that is what needed to be done to keep al parties happy. Any behind the scene controversies should be handled by the DA but not turned into some kind of student organized anti-Greek life campaign.

Penn State labels new claims it used a pledge's death to get a fraternity house back "untrue and offensive." Beta Theta Pi fraternity is suing Penn State to get the house back, and the judge seems to be ruling in Penn State's favor.

Sadly the new DA has shown has incompetence in his abilities to handle troubles regarding Greek life crimes. Sooner than later Penn State will have another Greek tragedy and the House of Cards will topple permanently.

Penn State is a “state related institution” in the same vein as Temple and Pitt. Less than 6 percent of PSU budget comes from the state.

Bloomsburg Shippensburg and Millersville are actual “state” school.

Nice try tho

You act like every ounce of alcohol at PSU is binge-consumed by frat boys who only care about having a good time, hazing underclassmen, and rapid women. Only 17% of PSU is involved in Greek life and, as a Penn State student not in a fraternity but has been to their parties, there is 10 times more alcohol in the apartments and houses downtown. You just want to hate on frats because they have a good time because they’re part of a system that allows for many people to interact with each other and meet new people while you are still closest with a group of alike men who you choose to be with. Have you ever been to ANY college outside of PSU? Drinking is not a Penn State problem nor is it a Greek life problem; it is a choice that many college students make and it is their responsibility to not let it affect their health or grades. That’s what becoming an adult is all about... personal responsibility.

Exactly, it's about personal responsibility. And those brothers need to take responsibility for how they treated those pledges. They had to have known that harm could result from that kind of forced alcohol consumption and other hazing practices. And they should have taken responsibility by seeking medical care for Piazza.

I very much agree that the other brothers should have helped him more. You have to remember that personal responsibility applies to everyone, even Tim. If the brothers were literally pouring alcohol down his throat, then that's forced drinking. Nobody did that. He willingly took and drank it. He could have said no, he could have left, nobody was making him join. What happened was an accident, don't act as though it could only happen at fraternities.

Congrats, you are encouraging that I become a victim of a crime, real classy. No one denies that hazing exists at frats; and everyone agrees that some go overboard and that all hazing needs to stop. But this thing called PERSONAL REPSONSIBILITY that I mentioned comes in because no one can control what I do but me; everything that I do is a choice. If someone is being hazed, what is stopping them from walking out and never coming back? I’ll answer, NOTHING. I’m not justifying hazing, I’m pointing out that everyone needs to be PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE for their own safety and not do anything that might put it in jeopardy. You can’t rely on anyone but yourself to ensure your own safety.
