And I believe the IFC at the University of Colorado-Boulder has separated ties with the University and all the fraternities still operate under the guidance of their National and chapter advisors.

Other schools' (like Harvard) have Greek systems that are not officially recognized by the university. It does not stop them from operating and continuing. The National/International organizations still support these chapters. This is a possibility here if we can convince our nationals through collaborative effort that we don't want/need the university endorsement.
