sorority rush
by: questionAre alpha phi or AZD even relevant anymore for future rushes? Seemed like the hazing used to be worth it but with the rising of SDT/AEPhi/DPhiE/PhiMu seems like the normal girls would rather not go through that

I'm not sure where you're getting your info from but Sdt dphie and aephi all have the same amount of mixers as off campus sororities. In my opinion I don't get why someone would want to pledge a sorority which they cannot openly rep. On campus the best off both worlds; going out and being able to say what org you're in. Also no one is even interested in off campus anymore have you seen their newest pcs????

@truth, yeah I've seen the whales in aephi and sdts new classes. Alpha phi definitely did worse last year than before but azd did just fine. Dphie did shockingly well. And as a member of a top fraternity here, no dphie/aephi definitely do not go out 4 days a week. They've been scheduling 2-3 mixers a week because headcounts have been too low

The first frat guy was 100% correct. if u wanna drink and party 4 days a week, do Aphi AZD SDT, honestly even Aephi. DphiE was hot this semester but they def dont go out as much. If you dont like to party that much, thats cool too. Join a lower tier sorority. Tiers are based off looks and amount of partying. Top tier is aphi azd sdt, bottom line. As for closeness and sisterhood, Because of the pledging intensity, I would actually say AZD and aphi PCs are typically the closest. They are also smaller than the rest, which helps. People on here are nerds that think just because you drink most nights means you cant do well in school. Im drunk pretty much every night and im still top in my class, but thats just how I like to enjoy my college nights. Thats my opinion, but it is also 100% accurate.

If you just want to waste your parents money to be in a sorority or frat for fun and not give a damn about the Philanthropy and just party all the time without caring about the connections you'll get in the future then it sounds like you're the retarded one. A sorority IS about the philantropy and most of all SISTERHOOD. I love my sisters, I love what we support and I love that I can party and still have an amazing time. Also, an established sorority CAN take you somewhere with the connections you'll make AND it's a very good look on a resume. I plan on being successful once I'm out of here and I wish others did to

just rush everywhere. Pretty sure both off campus sororities do some philanthropy and obvioudly all on campus.

If you're looking to go out 2-4 times a week, sdt/aephi/dphie/phi mu all have that many mixers a week and mix with the same middle/top tier frats bc Greek life at bing isn't that huge lol.
On top of that they're nationally recognized and have philanthropy and better sisterhood. Joining an underground sorority has no appeal or benefits. Can't even wear their letters so can't even tell they're in a sorority. Aphi and azd both had to change their names bc they're no longer recognized making them even more irrelevant.
So pointless to go through all the hazing to join an irrelevant group of girls who mix w the same frats as the on campus sororities.

This is actually so true. As long as ur not in phi sig or SAEpi, youre still going to SAE DCHI PiLam and having mixers every tues thursday friday saturday. Legit no point in going off at all they are becoming more and more irrelevant every semester that goes by.

If going out 4-5 days a week is all some care about then why bother with going to school? The higher in years we go the harder the workload is. Who the hell has the time for that and why would one want to subject themselves to party THAT hard? Some people really need to re-evaluate what a true sisterhood is about. Especially if you want to rush ladies, think hard and well about where the sorority will take you in the future, not what it will give you in the present.
