Underground sororities and fraternities are illegal. If people involved in underground Greek Life are open about being part of these fake organizations, they can and will get expelled from the university. Above ground Greek Life is real Greek Life. You are allowed to wear letters on campus, you get the benefits of the org., and you do community service and hold programs.

Underground sorority take freshmen girls first semester and trick them
Into thinking that they are going above ground and that they don’t haze bc they know no one will want to join if they know the consequences of getting kicked out of school. You can’t wear letters to represent your “org” and if letters or any sorority decor are seen by any RA on campus/dorm you will be investigated the school has been cracking down lately. You can’t put an underground sorority on your resume so there will be no future gain. As for parties everyone parties all the same so basically above ground orgs both sorority and frat have more benefits.
