sororities at yale

Thoughts on all four sororities. I'm interested in rushing but want to know a bit more about each one (especially the new one).
Thanks

The first commenter gave the most biased, inaccurate description of the four sororities and the rush process itself. I'll try to do better.
Theta: Decent sisterhood and house. While there's definitely a reason for the stereotype that they're all rich NYC prep school girls or internationals, they're more diverse than people think. They do try to be exclusive with who they mix with, which sometimes makes them come off as snobby. A little cliquey within their group, which makes their sisterhood not very strong.
Pi phi: More fun at parties than theta, but pi phi and theta tend to attract similar people so they aren't really that distinguishable. Probably has the worst sisterhood other than aphi-- I have a friend in pi phi and she's constantly complaining about how cliquey everyone is. They probably have the most mixers of the four sororities, so if that's all you're interested in, try to get in pi phi.
Kappa: The undeserved reputation of them being antisocial has been going away this year. Unlike pi phi and theta, they actually have chapter every week and people show up. Definitely the strongest sisterhood-- you never hear them complaining about drama and they hang out a lot. Fun, classy, unpretentious at mixers.
Alpha Phi: Definitely not as well-established as the other three sororities. Lots of girls who were rejected from the original 3, very cliquey. Dues are ridiculously expensive, but they still don't have a house. Still, they've managed to get a decent number of mixers.

kappa has changed a loooot since I was a freshman. I ended up dropping rush after the first night because I couldn't really see myself in any of the houses and then decided to rush again sophomore year. I ended up preffing Kappa over theta because I clicked with them more and could see myself hanging out with them. I know I made the right decision for myself, and my best advice is to try it out and see what you like. Definitely try not to go into it with your sights set on a certain sorority.

I would say kappa is still pretty meh. like 3 or 4 juniors are great somewhat"elite" girls, but sophomores are meh IMO. And here's why.
1) they literally have zero intersection with Pi Phi/Theta. none. I went through every single sophomore and they are just not friends at all. Kappa is in it's own bubble. that hurts Kappa's prestige, but obviously a tradeoff b/c it has the best sisterhood.
2) they still cling to AEPi and Sig Chi and Chi Psi (bottom tier frats). Sophomores have no friends with sae/sigep/signu/dke/adphi
3) almost no varsity athletes
