are pretap binding?

If I get invited to a pretap event, am I guaranteed a spot in the society? Or no?

You should attend every pre-tap that you are invited to. You are guaranteed a tap by each of those societies, and can pick which tap you want to officially accept in the weeks between pre-tap and tap night.

You might potentially get offered additional taps from other societies after pre-tap is over and they see how many of their original pre-tap people either accepted or declined.
