I'm freaking out. This is obviously not a good sign. What should I do? Obviously I'll do the aoplication but still this isn't ideal

Don't freak out.
Definitely fill out the application. After pre-tap, seniors in societies make a list of juniors who didn't get pretapped and vouch for them. Societies use this to find new people to interview if they need to. Talk to your senior friends and make sure they know you didn't get pretapped but you want to be.

But how does the process work? There are Pre-taps then interviews, but do they reject several pre-taps from this interview process? Then what? they do a second round of taps and interviews?? curious

but I hear from seniors that all this stress is for nothing...we will all end up in the right place where we belong assuming we are not greedy and status-conscious. Be honest with yourself and go where you can be you and be totally happy. Forget about the facade and mask you wear...now is the time to really find truth and your people!

if you want to do a society, you should sign up for the society initiative. you should not rely on hearing from a non-initiative one. unless you don't care about doing one which is also fine! i know a ton of people who didnt and are happy with that decision.
