The Iota Chi chapter of Alpha Phi at Yale has basically no money because it's literally brand new. It's just a lot of the girls IN it are rich. Theta has a huge endowment. Therefore the Epsilon Tau chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta at Yale is a WELL-ENDOWED sorority, whereas APhi has like no endowment. It's literally 3 years old. APhi just has a reputation for attracting rich girls in their pledge classes. Theta does too, but the difference is that Theta has an endowment and APhi doesn't. That's why the girls' dues were so high. THEY paid for the house renovations. If Theta wanted to renovate their house they'd just have to dip into their endowment.

Like they JUST got a financial aid program because their dues are so high. LITERALLY only rich girls can AFFORD to join APhi. SO ridiculous. Associate with the rich-boy frat too... and all their dues in the past went to unnecessary house renovations, not even to anything impactful on campus. Selfish sorority with poor sisterhood and very cliquey.

It's true that some of the older girls in APhi give the sorority its rich-girl image and it's not everyone but as the years have gone on and they've become more selective they've started picking girls based on wealth like Theta does. Soooooo...

I have never heard an alpha phi girl bring up money before in my life. This rumor is completely false. Yes, some members are wealthy. But others pay their own dues.

These girls are dope. Love mixing with them. Super hot, many of them are wealthy, and they have the best personalities by far.

They brag about wealth. The epitome of elitism at Yale.

I'm making this its own post in response to the one below (clearly from Pi Phi): This is not about PRIVACY. Pi Phi's blatant racism is PRIVACY that needs to be respected? This is Yale. Honestly how dare you — this isn't about someone's personal life. Racism is not a secret that should be kept under wraps so that a certain sorority can desperately try to make themselves look less pathetic. This is about a systemic issue that exists in one sorority and one sorority only, and that is the Connecticut Beta chapter of Pi Beta Phi. NO ONE should respect anyone's racial biases. That's not how it works.

You guys should honestly think before you start digging up stuff that Pi Phi does. Yes, the slideshow is wrong. Yes, Pi Phi is not maybe very diverse. But there is a certain level of respect that everyone maintained for each other until YOU GUYS came to campus. Like this is people's privacy. This is not your secret to tell. I can't believe you guys spiraled from the nicest girls on campus to the cattiest girls. You should be ashamed.
