letters of rec
by: PNMhi everyone! i'm super excited to be attending Elon next year, and I'm 99% sure I'm going to rush. I was wondering if there are any sororities that require letters of rec, and if so, which ones? Also, are there any houses that currently haze? That's something I'm pretty worried about. Anyways, thanks so much!

you don't need letters of rec for any sorority here at all! since rush is second semester, it's really not important at all to have a letter of rec.
sororities don't really haze here either. when people say they do, they mainly mean older girls sometimes make you chug when you're initiated, but thats the worst it gets in any sorority here. it's nothing like state schools.

Recs are more of a thing at big southern schools, you don't need them here but they definitely won't hurt you. I had recs for 2 out of my top 3 choices though and both of them took me to pref, whereas the one I didn't have recs for dropped me after day 1... could be a total coincidence, but recs can help you stand out a little more. As for hazing: it's really not a thing here, don't be worried about it
