wrong choice?

by:

Does anyone else feel like they chose the wrong sorority? I feel like the sisterhood in my organization sucks, and feel like I was really misled by the stereotypes I shouldn't have listened to before recruitment.

I've never felt that way, but I can try and give you some advice about it. Firstly, give it time. There were a lot of people (even my Big) who I wasn't close to until I had already been in the organization for a semester. You can't become best friends and sisters for life with someone in just a month. Secondly, maybe try to change who you hang out around within the organization. All sororities have cliques, and some cliques are better friends and have less drama than others. Thirdly, try being more involved. Show up to committee meetings, if things are optional do them anyway. The more you're around people the closer you'll become. Lastly, if none of this works and you've given it enough time, you can consider desisting. But keep that as a last resort. I hope you become happier with your organization.

I am sorry that happened but that's what happens if you listen to rumors or look at sites like Greek Rank. Perception is much different than the reality in most cases.......

that's happened to a lot of girls. it's not uncommon. it's more accurate to get to know girls before recruitment. rush week is completely fake and everyone tries to put on a fake image that is not at all accurate with how the sorority functions. you need to get to know a lot of the sisters beforehand at parties or when going on dates because everyone is only concerned about appearing to be close during rush week.

The stupid stereotypes and tiers this site creates causes so many girls to make the wrong choices, it's so sad. I am really glad that I didn't know about this site before I rushed, and even though I chose a "bottom tier" sorority when I also pref'd a "top tier" I am soo much happier there than I would be anywhere else. But it does get sad/discouraging when people try to devalue my org based on this dumb sites tier system.
