Seriously....I am saddened and disgusted that the supposedly intelligent, open minded and well rounded young women of Elon engage in such nasty, immature, plain-old mean BULLYING and gossiping as I have seen here. Full disclosure...I am a parent of a freshman who just went through recruitment and did very well. She is pledging a wonderful sorority and had her choice throughout he process. I, too, was in a top national sorority, which is represented at Elon, so curiously led me to this website. All I can say is I actually feel badly for you if your Greek system is truly as focused on "top tier hot girls" rather than sisterhood, traditions, and friendships that last forever. Perhaps you think I'm a pathetic
loser who has nothing better to do but troll this website. You would be very much mistaken. As the mother to three daughters, I simply had to say something. Come ON ladies...what happened
to being strong women, who have each other's backs and want the best for others? Take a long, hard look in the mirror before putting on your letters the next time, or spewing nastiness.

You need to understand that anonymity brings out the worst in people, as well as leading to various groups being misrepresented. A large proportion of the posts on this site may not be from greek women at Elon, but they still present us in a poor light. I am an initiated sister of a "nationally strong sorority" and I can promise, my organization is focused on sisterhood, traditions, and friendships that last forever. Some organizations at Elon are, some are not. However, it is my opinion that you need to trust that your daughter joined a positive sorority that will leave her with a highly beneficial experience instead of googling Elon greek life, reading whatever nonsense comes up first and judging all of us based upon that. If you have raised her well, her judgement during recruitment was sure to be good and you can confirm that fact during a mothers weekend this spring, or during parents weekend in the fall when you meet her sisters. However, you can not confirm that by reading posts on a website meant for petty gossip and superficial ratings. You judging us based on truly anonymous "spewed nastiness" on this site is just as bad and counterproductive as people partaking in the gossiping that this site encourages.

There is just a generational difference that does not understand what websites like this bring out in people I can assure you no one is this nasty to each other in person at Elon university

I am actually so glad to see those who immediately came to the defense of the Elon Panheenic groups! I didn't mean
to say ALL sorority members at Elon are being negative or nasty, but that the overwhelming sense I got from visiting this site twice was disheartening. I'm actually thrilled to hear that, in the opinion of some who replied, I was seeing the exception rather than the rule. I certainly do understand the beauty and curse of anonymity, and the people that have mych bigger opinions online than in person, and despite being a mom, I'm not (yet) a dinosaur at 45....at least not on most days. I truly didn't mean to come across as across-the-board angry sounding as I may have. I trust in the system as a whole, and wholeheartedly trust my daughter. She couldn't be more excited to start her experience a and I couldn't be happier for her. I guess the message i want to get across to anyone who will listen, even if only with one ear, is that life is HARD and it throws you so many loops. If you are lucky enough to find a group of friends that you can count on today, tomorrow and in twenty years, it is a wonderful thing. You all get to spend four years at such a wonderful university where, as one of you put it, people are so kind in person. It's surprisingly idealistic for a 45 year old, but I just hate the idea of anyone trying to bring anyone down rather than building them up. Too much time for that later! Enjoy your experiences!

SO accurate @above ^^^. You judging Elon Panhellenic women as whole based on this website is just as bad/counterproductive as the people on this website who "spew nastiness", as the person above already so eloquently stated.
