“Kappa Sig” Cease & Desist letter

Word has it that “Kappa Sig” got this letter delivered to all their off campus houses. Can’t agree more; they are useless and irrelevant and the letter says. It all:

“RE: NOTIFICATION OF DIRECTIVE TO CEASE & DESIST

We are contacting you in your role as a member of an organization currently referring to themselves as Kappa Sigma fraternity. We have received information which alleges that your organization continues to imply and refer to itself as Kappa Sigma fraternity:

This letter serves as notification that your organization has been assigned an administrative directive to immediately cease and desist all organizational activities while referring to itself as Kappa Sigma fraternity.

Kappa Sigma fraternity at Elon does not exist and has not existed on the Elon University campus since September of 2019.

The conditions of this directive state that the group is not to refer to themselves in any capacity, officially or unofficially as Kappa Sigma fraternity.

This includes referring to themselves as Kappa Sigma fraternity in organizational meetings, meetings of the executive board, organizational programming, social events, philanthropic events, and any trip or travel.

This also includes reference as Kappa Sigma fraternity in any communication with and among the group via any social media platform or application.

To reiterate, we expect there to be no other referring to yourselves as Kappa Sigma fraternity. Failure to do so will result in further legal action.”
