Is it true that over 600 girls are rushing for roughly 400 spots?

That's not how it works. Talk to your Pi Chi, but generally quota is set by the number of girls who attend preference divided by 9. Girls will drop out of recruitment on their own or could be cut from all sororities (rare). No one will know what quota is roughly until Saturday. Then there are things like quota additions and snap bids and cob - but those should be explained by a pi chi. Really, don't worry about this stuff right now. Concern yourself with putting your best self forward.
