off campus vs on campus

People on here keep calling Old Pi Kapp, Lambda and Kappa Sig things like "off campus drinking groups".
Why is this considered an insult or slur? Why does Elon recognizing you matter? What do they do for frat life?

- Historically (not just Elon) off campus groups have no longevity
It is a short term solution with very little long term gain . Once the party house is gone - they are history.. reality will hit next year. No relationship with alumni , Elon or Nationals.. it it for themselves with no regard for anyone else .. narcissistic group/choice . Main concern from Elon’s perspective is the safety of kids pledging (no oversight) They kicked off old PKP and old Sig Pi initially because of hazing gone too far -

The alumni of the fraternities kicked off have no respect for the off campus side shows and are instrumental in the re-chartering process. This was the case for PKP and Sig Pi - KS alumni are already planning a re-charter (it was not just Elon who drove KS off campus but also their alumni board).

Simple fact is Elon does not control Greek Life. They can be partners or they can be nothing. Elon always had a control problem.

Elon on the rampage to eliminate off campus fraternities by pressuring landlords in the community not to tent to them - WTF? Big house changes within a year ..

Lambda and Kappa Sigma had too many parties? It's a fraternity, not a study group. Frats are realizing they don't need an adversarial Elon. Alumni will not turn their backs on them. You will see. Elon has a black eye from the way Kappa Sig left them.
