is sig ep dry?
by: Confused sorority girlI keep seeing on this site that Sig Ep is a “dry fraternity” but I’m confused what this means. I don’t go to a lot of their parties, but as far as I know their parties are not dry by any means, so can someone explain how/why they are considered a “dry fraternity”?

Looks like every fraternity on campus is guna be dry from now on...
From the Sig Chi website:
"No chapter shall host an open social function where alcoholic beverages are present"
From the KA website:
"Open parties, where alcohol is present, are prohibited."
From the Kap Sig website:
"If host institution rules permit alcohol, it shall only be made available at a Social Event (1) in
compliance with applicable laws, (2) then only to persons of legal drinking age, and then (3)
through a licensed and insured vendor on a cash bar basis;"
From the Beta website:
"Bulk quantities or common sources of alcohol are not allowed (examples include kegs, cases, or large
containers of mixed drinks)."
From the ZBT website:
"There shall be no social activities, which are classified as "open parties" that are
characterized by unrestricted and/or public access to alcoholic beverages."
etc, etc, etc
Every national fraternity has some sort of ban on serving alcohol. Its meaningless policy that nationals has to pass for insurance and liability reasons. What goes on off campus is not effected by national policy.
