dropped by all nine? what did i do wrong?

by:

hi everyone, during recruitment i was dropped by all nine sororities on campus the very first day. while my pi chis have been super nice, its still so hard watching all my friends on bid day and hanging out with there new pcs. i was super nice, didnt have a bad rep, or skip any orgs. i dont know what went wrong... i was told to trust the process, have faith, and maximize my options and i did all that and didnt even make it to second day. please be honest and no mean comments but why do you think this happened? i really still want to be in a sorority next year and clearly i did something wrong that i need to fix

Oh, I’m really sorry that happened to you girl. I understand how bad you must feel but honestly it doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you. The system isn’t perfect and sometimes girls just fall through the cracks, especially since there were so many PNMS this year. You could definitely try to rush next year, but for now I’d try to focus your time on the friends and activities that you’re already part of! Hope this helps:)

thank you for the kind words:) its been really tough but hopefully i can make it through spring semester, find some GDIs to be friends with, and rush again sophomore year since all my friends seem to not have time for me anymore:(

I'm sorry your newly Greek friends don't have time for you anymore. It's definitely not you.

I am truly sorry that you are going through this. It seems so random and unfair. I think there were a record number of PNMs participating this year and I suspect it was purely a numbers challenge. I know this is not comforting to you, but you really seem like a genuinely great girl and I hope you find your friend group

You can still sleep with all the frat boys just like the top tiers. They rejected you, now ruin all their relationships. JK

Are you really being honest? Are you obese? Are you butterfaced? Are you socially backwards? How are your grades? Are you not white...

Is it that hard to be a GDI at this school?

Are you serious?

Do not stress or blame your self. I know so many amazing girls who are unaffiliated and some that had the same thing happen to them. Your newly affiliated friends are going to be sucked into the process for a little but once new member period calms down they should be back to hanging out with you. Join clubs! The best thing about rushing as a sophomore is knowing girls in orgs and this will give you a much better chance next year! Look at this as an advantage, you know what to expect now and now that your friends are affiliated you can get a better idea of the process.

It isn’t anything you did wrong....

How do you know it's not her fault? Is that what sorority girls do? They lie to each other to make themselves feel better.

how do u know she’s a unique person and the system left her out? the person was only asking about her social media, gpa, weight, and looks because certain sororities will cut girls for some of these things. the person was genuinely asking it’s not like they were saying they agreed with how it worked

Your comment looks so stupid now, since they erased part of this discussion.

It was my comment that got deleted, and yeah it’s shallow and idiotic and awful but recruitment, especially day 1, has a LOT to do with looks and first impressions. It’s not fair but it’s true.

Honestly, you probably didn't make yourself memorable. Sororities are looking for girls they could see as their potential sister. Next time try to make yourself stand out more and form a connection with the girls you talk to.

I was dropped too and can’t understand what went wrong. I wore the right clothes and smiled so much that my cheeks still hurt. It really seems random to me.
