freshman preference determine tiers?

I know I’m going to get hate for this but as a freshman girl this is my perspective and who I am leaning towards. I’ve talked a couple other girls and they have similar opinions.

phi mu

As a freshman girl all my friends are talking about the top tiers. I live in Carolina and its mostly split between Zeta and Sigma. Phi Mu is really pressing and I think if we don't get into Sigma or Zeta then Phi Mu will get a lot of us. But honestly we are afraid to talk about it too much because then you look like a fool if you don't get in.

It's your opinion, so it could be true. Most people take everything on here with a grain of salt.
Seems you really like AZD and KD. Most girls would not have them that high.
I can't believe that many freshmen are banking on Phi Mu as anything but a backup sorority. They are going to accept a lot of girls this year that are not really top tier material and they've already been declining. I don't know what kind of great future one could expect from them.

Phi Mu is my first choice becuase I go to Kappa Sig and Sig Chi mostly and its clear that they're the ones running these parties. Sigma is my second choice because they're friends with sig chi but the phi mus seem to be the leaders in the social scene here

Trust the system... the sorority I thought I really connected with didn't invite me back-- but I stuck with the process and couldn't be happier with where I am. I love my sisters; we work hard and play hard-- but I was THIIIISSSS close to dropping out of rush after the first day. I'm so thankful I didn't. Good luck and have fun!

The freshmen determine who is and stays in which tier.
If the most interesting Freshmen all chose AXO, they'd be bottom of top tier after just 1 pledge class. The thing is that never happens.

You’re delusion ....LOL don’t matter if the whole pc is considered hot they don’t then jump up to top tier ... whether it’s the bottom, middle or top of top tier. It takes time for things to adjust after rush and for PCs to establish their vibe and personalities. You never know how catty a PC can be and it can work or be a train wreck. The majority of Elon girls are very pretty and a large majority of mid tier and even some bottom tier girls would be in top tiers at larger universities. So just being a hot pc doesn’t move your whole sorority up. Personalities, grades involvement and positive vibe on campus and with the frats. Guys might want to f a hot girl in the bathroom at a party but that doesn’t mean you make a sorority better.

If guys not wanting to F a girl in the bathroom didn't affect your tier, then explain Phi Mu being top tier. They're not smart academically, not good on philanthropy and they are not involved on campus. They are pretty and stylish for the most part. They are always around and controlling the guys. How come they're top tier?

I guess you really are a 1st year... your lack of maturity is showing. Stop stereotyping everyone in a sorority or tier. Not everyone in Phi Mu has bad grades no more than everyone in KD is “weird “ or everyone tries too hard in AZD or parties too hard in aoii or is “hipster” in sigma or zeta loves snow .. it is wrong to assume that choices or decisions made by a small group or a few random people in a sorority is how all the girls in it are. Also ... there are many hot/pretty girls from all the sororitys that hook up with guys in all sorts of rooms and outdoors. Plus the guys are wasted anyway they don’t really care ... everyone is hot to them. LOL ... and As far as Phi Mu goes they are top tier because of their national reputation and a handful of hot girls that party hard and know how to show the guys a good time and they can be really wild. Guys like wild so that’s why they have lots of frats into them.

That's not a stereotype. Who cares if a girl or 2 has a good GPA, the rest are so bad it pulls them down. I want to be Dean's list and I want sisters who can help keep me there.
KD is weird and smart and great sisterhood.
AZD does try really hard, but it shows in their grades and campus involvement. The stereotypes are sometimes true.
Phi Mu is a dirty top tier if they are. Their National Rep means so little. KD has great National Rep.
You say they have a handful of wild girls who really know how to party, but you just said not to judge a sorority by the minority like Zeta girls who like snow. You don't make any sense. You're so stupid, Miss Likely Phi Mu.
No one respects Phi Mu as a Greek organization on campus anymore and sleeping with all the fratboys is not a good look. I have some awesome friends in Phi Mu and the thing is they don't hang out with some of the other girls in Phi Mu. It's a really splintered sorority.

Phi Mu is a back up sorority but a lot of us think its top tier because the frats like to party with them and a lot of the girls are pretty and put together. Would I rather be in Sigma or Zeta? Absolutely but I want to be in a sorority that will get invited to cool mixers. Sisterhood is really important and I think what is hard right now is trying to determine who really has that. All we get to see is girls putting on a show. I wish there was a better way to tell. Upperclassmen say its when you go through recruitment and I hope thats true!
