by: Ya, so ?Be aware that a lot of those nice friendly girls are just being fake nice to get a feel for who they think is cool or to try to get a pulse on who is considered well liked/popular . The nice thing can be very surface level and then by January those same girls won't talk to you . Or you may even be dirty rushed ( brought to parties, mixers, out to lunch and coffee and then dropped ) All these sororitys are competing for "the best" girls . So everyone is going to be nice right now . It's their job to make their sorority look the best and the most friendly. Try to look past the looks, clothes, handbag labels, and smiles. Look for true friendship and sisterhood and substance.

Just common sense , why so bothered by people trying to get to know people from all sororitys ? Seems like you are the one with the agenda.

Just make friends with everyone and use your best judgement.
I would put a word of warning about Phi Mu, they are in some deep unresolved trouble, because of their actions last year, so expect them to be trying extra hard this year. Sometimes that comes with blatant dishonesty.
End of the day you can choose to not participate at any moment even after initiation. And they can choose to drop you at almost any moment as well.

Most sororities host events first semester that the student body is invited to and you can meet some girls that way. Really they want to meet you too so if you can strike up a casual conversation anywhere with a girl wearing letters its a good thing.
